Lionel is originally from Colorado and his keen interest in art appeared at an early age, but he did not study until after service in the US Navy. Formal studies were at Auraria Community College in Denver. Lionel’s mastery of drawing is evident in his frequent choices of architectural subjects, both urban and rural. His work has shown in the Vail Valley Invitation Northern Colorado Invitational, Pikes Peak Invitational and Glenwood Springs, winning numerous awards along the way including the People’s Choice at the Littleton Depot Art Gallery.
Since moving to Florida, he has been awarded “Best in Show” at the Miniature Show in Homestead, FL., “Best of Show” at the West Pasco Build, 2015 and “Best of Show” at the Bay Area Show of 2016. His works hang in numerous corporate, business and private collections in Denver, in other countries and throughout the Southwest, a region for which he feels a special affinity, the region that fostered his artistic talent.
Lionel has signature status in the Colorado Watercolor Society, Miami Watercolor Society and Gold Coast Watercolor Society.
